About the job
Reporting to the Regional Desk Manager, this role will be leading a team of Global Technical Specialists, Global Coordinators, and International Service Engineers, providing first line technical support for emergency cases and planned services for our global marine customers.
Key tasks:
- Secure a strong QHSE culture within the team.
- Lead the team, giving direction and ensuring that they are performing with a strong customer-oriented mindset.
- Fully responsible for the Field Service cost centre forecast and result including investments and monitor progress against financial targets.
- Develop, motivate, and coach direct reports and secure proper competence development.
- Manage basic performance issues within the team appropriately and quickly.
- Ensure that ISE’s with the correct skills are selected in close cooperation with coordinators for complex jobs.
- Conduct ISE’s employee reviews, including competence profile and skills matrix updates accordingly.
- Ensure effective management of people in remote areas.
- Ensure that the team is equipped with the right tools and that the tools are fit for purpose.
- Identification of ISE skills, maintain tools, procure spare parts & equipment needed on board.
- Implement and follow up on relevant KPIs to measure and improve performance.
This role can be combined with (whichever applicable):
- FSE duties (i.e. job code 386): execute all services of our 360º service portfolio on specific products, modules, and systems.
- Global Coordinator duties: responsibility for planning the field service activities.
- Global Technical Specialist duties: responsibility for technically supporting the customers and sales companies.
What you know?
- Degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent.
- 5 solid years of experience in onsite service, technical support, or field service coordination.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and guide a team towards achieving common goals.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently on your own initiative.
- Customer-focused mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate efficiently – both written and verbally.
- Excellent time management and project management skills.
- Ability to make responsible and sound decisions, meet targets, and handle high-pressure environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office automation tools and able to utilize technology effectively.
