Job overview

Reporting to the Value Stream Manager, the Field Support Manager leads a team of Field Support Technicians to provide support for landing gear systems installed to the Airframe.
This role oversees the development of Crew for Release Signatory and Landing Gear Technical Competency, Develop Support Capability and Capacity to ensure adequate resources and competencies is available to address OEM and Customer's Request.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate technical guidance on landing gear systems, trouble shooting and develop on-site solutions with the team (Internally with Production, Product engineers and externally with the Operators)
  • Carry out Material and Manhour analysis of the on-site request.
  • Capacity Planning for On-wing support Annually.
  • Forecast support activities.
  • Lead a team of Field Support Technicians.
  • Development of Field Support Technicians in the areas of Landing Gear competency and regulatory training.
  • Collaborate with customers in understanding the technical issue and requirements.
  • Coordinate logistical support with the Customer.
  • Tailor a customized support to meet the customer's requirement.
  • Ensure compliance to Regulatory Requirements, Component Maintenance Manual, Safety Requirements and Company Policies.
  • Continuous Improvement in support processes and workflow.
  • Collaborate internally for engineering support and logistical support (Spares, Consumable and tools shipment to location).
  • Deployment of Crew into Production for Product Training and Production support during non-deployment periods.
  • Ensure Field Support Equipment and Tools are available and maintained.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering.
  • Proficient in computer literacy
  • Familiar with Airworthiness Certifications.
  • Good communication, interpersonal skills and situation awareness.
  • Strong Track record of managing technical teams and drive for support excellence.
  • Problem Solving skills working in Dynamic situations during On-site support.
  • In depth knowledge of Landing Gear Systems, Design, Installation, function and Maintenance.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in Aerospace Industry in Landing Gear and Tech Support.
  • Be able to manage a team and assign schedule teams for respective assignments as required. Experience in Landing Gear overhaul process and hands-on experience is an added advantage.
