Job Roles and Responsibilities:

As a dedicated part-time or full-time FECCE/ACEY Educator, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for young children. Your responsibilities include:

1. Supporting Classroom Activities: Assist the main teacher in planning, preparing, and implementing daily lessons and activities. Engage with children during playtime, circle time, and learning activities to ensure active participation.
   
2. Creating a Safe and Nurturing Environment: Supervise children to ensure their safety during indoor and outdoor activities. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment. Help children develop positive behaviours and social skills, promoting kindness and cooperation.
   
3. Facilitating Daily Routines: Assist children with daily routines such as eating, toileting, and transitioning between activities.
   
4. Observing and Reporting: Observe children’s behaviours, progress, and any concerns, and report these to the main teacher. Help document children’s milestones and participation in activities for assessments and parent communication.
   
5. Collaborating with the Main Teacher: Communicate regularly with the main teacher to align on classroom objectives and strategies. Assist in organizing materials, preparing resources, and setting up learning stations.
   
6. Interacting with Parents and CaregiversGreet parents and caregivers during drop-offs and pick-ups, providing updates when needed.
   Share feedback from the main teacher when appropriate, while maintaining confidentiality.

The assistant educator plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless, supportive, and engaging environment for the children, working closely with the main teacher to foster growth and development.

Qualifications and Experience:

• FECCE/ACEY in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Passion for fostering children's growth and development.
• Strong understanding of child development principles and pedagogy.
• Effective communication skills with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Patience, creativity, and adaptability in the classroom.
• Previous experience in a preschool setting is preferred.
