Facilities Engineer (Wastewater systems)

Key Job Accountabilities:

1. Take ownership of DIW and WWT systems and implement a TPM program for them.
2. Collaborate with facilities operations by providing engineering solutions to enhance systems' reliability and robustness.
3. Support facilities operations in troubleshooting of system problems and closure of incident reports.
4. Update & conduct risk assessments for chemical purchase, storage and usage.
5. Manage energy & water usage efficiency improvement, productivity and value engineering programs.
6. Prepare and manage Water Efficiency Management Plan and water balance chart for mandatory reporting to the PUB.
7. Liaise with authorities such as PUB and NEA when required.
8. Analysis and reporting for critical DIW, waste water discharge parameters, Facilities liaison with QA, EHS on water related matters.
9. Track the monthly loading of critical systems and perform capacity studies for facilities expansions/upgrading.
10. Gatekeeper and advisor for DIW capacity planning and allocation with respect to equipment location and hookup.
11. Plan, design, tender out and manage expansion/upgrading projects with “zero” incidents and accurate budget control.
12. Ensure PPE & safety equipment such as safety showers, chemical spill containment kits are available.
13. Track and manage water & consumables consumptions and optimize processes to reduce costs.
14. Monitor routine and ad hoc service contractors’ performance to ensure safe & timely delivery of services as per service level agreement.
15. Formulate annual budgets for service contracts, improvement projects, spares, consumables and utilities.
16. Update existing M&E operating procedures, work instructions, FMEA and develop new ones, if required.
17. Develop and update PM scope of work, work instructions and checklists for service contracts' RFQ.
18. Manage the documentation of MSDS, service reports, asset database, spare parts, O&M manuals, drawings, etc.
19. Participate in quality, insurance/risk, environmental and safety audits, work groups and trainings.
20. Act as area owner for 6S program covering areas and rooms processing and distributing water.
21. Develop and conduct trainings to facilities operations shifters on new installations or procedures.
22. Required to be available on site after office hour even on weekends and public holidays.
23. Knowledge of Environmental Management Standard (EMS) and ISO 14001.
24. Consolidation of Reverse Osmosis Deionised water (RODI) Plant to utilize DI water capacity at Point of Use (POU) and reduce the operation cost.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

1. Minimum diploma in mechanical or chemical engineering.
2. 2 to 7 years of relevant experience in DIW & WWT systems’ design, operations and maintenance.
3. Certified water efficiency manager will be an advantage.
4. Familiar with quality tools such as FMEA, 8D.
5. Good command of written and spoken English.
6. Well versed with Microsoft Office and familiar with AutoCAD.
