Fac Underwriter

Requirement

1. Degree in a technical discipline like Engineering preferred
2. ACII/FCII or equivalent would be an advantage
3. Worked in the insurance/reinsurance industry for more than 3 years as a Property Underwriter
4. Work experience with regional responsibilities and good knowledge of markets
5. Underwriting experience and market knowledge of SEA, India, and North Asia
6. Underwriting experience and market knowledge of the Middle East is an advantage
7. Fluent English spoken and written is essential
8. Additional regional language(s) would be an advantage
9. Excellent oral and written communication with good negotiation skills
10. Good interpersonal skills, approachable and a good team player
11. Possesses leadership qualities
12. Willing to travel

Main Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

1. Analyze risks and exposures for assessment of risk quality and insurance coverage including pricing of risks and other related requirements
2. Ensure compliance with company guidelines in the underwriting of facultative business
3. Ensure proper administration of facultative business transacted including follow-up actions for endorsement, registration in IT system, and reporting
4. Provide advice on claims matters
5. Co-operate with other teams in the pursuit of company targets
6. Take on other assigned roles and responsibilities relevant to facultative reinsurance business
7. Carry out desk-top evaluation of a risk and seek relevant information clarification from the cedant/broker where necessary
8. Price the exposure and set other terms and conditions to ensure long-term profitability
9. Evaluate and steer portfolio in order to enhance results and fit company’s risk appetite
