External Communications Manager

Reporting to Head of External Communications.

This is a Permanent role.

The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with the media, utilizing business insights to create stories/content for earned media across various mediums. They will also assist in identifying opportunities to improve the external image, conduct research that supports business priorities, and provide general assistance for corporate communication matters. The candidate will be accountable for safeguarding and enhancing the brand by developing distinctive thought-leadership insights that support the business, establishing strong media relationships, and preparing C-suite executives for interviews and speaking engagements.

Job Description:

• Develop corporate messaging and create a compelling narrative that portrays the company's vision and mission.
• Develop and implement media strategies that promote innovation, people, community, and growth agenda.
• Develop thought-leadership content/insights that endorse/support the brand and business objectives.
• Foster and maintain good relationships with journalists based in Singapore and ensure timely responses to media inquiries.
• Create press releases and bylines and organize media briefings to support media outreach efforts.
• Provide support for media training for the leadership team.
• Identify speaking opportunities for the leadership team and guide them on corporate messaging.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to manage issues that may harm the organization's reputation.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 6 years of experience in communications and public relations is a must.
• Familiarity with social media is a bonus.
• Excellent writing skills with the ability to communicate with clarity and confidence.
• Skilled storyteller who can effectively use words, graphics, and visuals to engage the audience.
• Capable of connecting and managing stakeholders at all levels.
• Can work efficiently under tight deadlines and manage crisis situations.
