Job description

What you’ll do:

You will be part of a dynamic team in the Strategic Communications department of the Singapore Heart Foundation, reporting to the Leads of Projects and Content. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

(i) Content Marketing, Writing & Proofreading

  • Conduct in-depth research on trending topics, news reporting, heart and health related information to generate new content ideas.
  • Possess knowledge of content marketing, copywriting, and social media content creation.
  • Excel in writing articles, newsletters, speeches, social media posts, emcee scripts, marketing collaterals, SEO content, as well as any other necessary documents and reports.
  • Experience with WordPress and graphic design software.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to make content strategy decisions.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to develop innovative content ideas.
  • Excel in proofreading all content for errors and inconsistencies.
  • Excel in translating health, lifestyle, and medical information from English to Chinese or vice versa.

(ii) Projects Management

  • Develop and execute comprehensive integrated event marketing plans that align with SHF’s mission and goal by utilising social media, email, publications, websites, SEO, SEM, public relations, advertising, etc.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to integrate digital initiatives with broader marketing campaigns.
  • Serve as the primary communications representative in internal and cross-departmental projects to coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the successful execution of projects.
  • Monitor progress of projects and make timely adjustments as needed.
  • Analyse project performance metrics and provide recommendations for future improvements and optimisations.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices and incorporate them into event marketing strategies to stay ahead of the competition.

(iii) Digital Marketing & Social Media

  • Be part of the conceptualisation, execution, management and analysis of SHF’s website, email marketing, digital campaigns, social media, content marketing, SEM, etc., to ensure deadlines, targets and deliverables are met, and to increase brand awareness, engagement, and reach.
  • Monitor and analyse digital marketing performance metrics using tools such as Google Analytics, or similar platforms to generate regular reports to track key performance indicators and provide insights for optimisation.
  • Maintain accurate data records & documentation and perform analysis for performance optimisation.
  • Make data-driven recommendations to improve campaign effectiveness and ROI.

(iv) Video Production & Editing

  • Initiate and manage the entire process of video creation, from conception to execution, to ensure it aligns with SHF's mission and objectives.
  • Responsible for editing, managing and producing a variety of video content, including but not limited to corporate videos, short form videos, long form videos, livestreams and webinars.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, including third-party vendors and production teams, to coordinate logistics, resources, and timelines for smooth project execution.
  • Create compelling narratives utilising visual storytelling techniques that resonate with audiences to achieve desired results.
  • Keep abreast of new trends and best practices in video production and editing and constantly look for ways to improve and innovate the quality and effectiveness of video content.
  • Analyse performance metrics and audience feedback to iteratively optimise video content strategies, identify opportunities for improvement and implement data-driven insights to increase engagement and deliver measurable results.

(v) Public Relations & Media

  • Collaborate closely with the Public Relations agency for proactive media pitching, press releases, media advisories, media monitoring and reporting aimed at securing positive coverage in targeted media.
  • Assist in the preparation of media materials such as briefing documents, fact sheets, and Q&A documents to support media interactions and interviews.
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to gather information and insights for media enquiries, ensuring messaging consistency and accuracy across all communications.
  • Assist in media relations, providing timely and accurate responses to media enquiries.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with the Public Relations agency to evaluate effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and optimise strategies for maximum visibility and impact.

(vi) Others

  • Support the Strategic Communications department in daily administrative tasks and perform other duties as requested to ensure all necessary tasks are performed in a proficient manner.
  • Assist in managing third-party vendors such as event companies, production studios, translation houses, social media agencies, freelance photographers, etc.

What we’d prefer you bring:

  • Good knowledge of photography and videography, with desirable proficiency in video editing and graphic design.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese languages.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to deal effectively with crises.
  • Familiarity with social media (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube) and basic understanding of tactical placement.
  • Familiarity with analytical tools, data visualisation, internet and technology-savvy, with a good understanding of the latest marketing trends and techniques.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfortable with multitasking in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Meticulous and with an eye for detail.
  • Positive attitude towards learning.

What you’ll need:

  • Preferably journalism/marketing/communications/film/event students from tertiary institutions.
  • Minimum 5 years related working experience in Communications, Video Production, Content Marketing & Project Management.
  • Must be articulate, with excellent organisational skills, able to multitask and prioritise workload.
  • Passionate to be part of the not-for-profit sector.
