The Executive (Ops & Manpower) shall be in charge of day-to-day security operations, assisting the Department Head in the running of the Security Department. In the absence of the Department Head, the Executive (Ops & Manpower) shall assume the role of acting Department Head.
Job Description:
- Assist and cover (in the absence of the HOD) the planning, organising and controlling of the resource deployment (security personnel) to meet day-to-day security operations at Tengah Hospital.
- Assist Department Head in developing and implementing the Security Department’s Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), as well as ensuring compliance with SOPs by department personnel.
- Assist the Department Head to develop and review physical security and incident response plans for various security scenarios stipulated by MOH. This includes driving initiatives to increase staff vigilance and hospital readiness through regular security reminders, training/briefings, and drills.
- Assist Department Head in acting as department liaison with the hospital’s Emergency Preparedness (EP) team and support all hospital planning for emergency preparedness. Supervise all related drills and incorporate findings into new SOP, where applicable.
- Manage, escalate, contain, handover, and follow-up on security incidents occurring in the hospital. This includes the quick deployment of Security personnel to respond and to update senior management on any notable incidents for review.
- Direct the investigation works, including providing relevant supporting evidence and/or documentation requested by management or authorised agency.
- Coordinate with internal and external parties on training, inter-hospital/inter-agency drills, dialogues, and seminars.
- Support Department Head in the planning of staff development, training and upskilling, operational readiness, and workplace safety and health of department personnel.
- Conduct regular operational audits on deployed security personnel in the Tengah Hospital campus.
- Support the Department Head and Systems Executive on the overall management of the integrated security management system within the Security Control Room and other designated rooms within the Tengah Hospital campus.
- Be responsible for the improvement of work processes, cost management, staffing level, and quality of service and productivity of all staff.
- Oversee the planning, development, coordination, and execution of training for Security Department staff and other department personnel as part of the hospital’s readiness for Security.
Job Requirements:
- A recognised Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
- Possess security background, preferably having gone through police or military training.
- Having attended/completed the WSQ Diploma in Security Management.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in managing security manpower, preferably in a healthcare facility.
- Possess strong leadership qualities.
- Possess valid Security Officer License from the Police Licensing & Regulatory Department.
- Physically fit and capable to manage a large number of people (i.e. staff, visitors, and members of the public) in a dynamic situation.
- Alert and observant to identify potential workplace safety (fire) and security hazards.
- Possess experience in managing staff welfare. Incumbent will be required to respond to staff grievances, suggestions, and feedback.
- Able to counsel and discipline staff when required, as well as promoting teamwork and cohesiveness.
This position is under contractual basis, convertible to permanent employment.
