Job Description: Executive Editor - Asia

Overview

Fortune Asia seeks an experienced and dynamic Executive Editor to lead our editorial initiatives and content development across Asia. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the editorial direction, content strategies, and events that establish Fortune as a premier business and leadership brand in Asia. The position focuses on the Asian audience and editorial development in print, events, and digital. Reporting to you will be the Asia Editor and News Writers.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Collaboration
    • Act as a strategic partner to Fortune Asia Management to continue to build the presence of Fortune in Asia, contributing to the overall growth and success of the brand in the region.
    • Collaborate closely across the entire Asia organization to develop innovative editorial franchises, content ideas, events, lists, and other products that resonate with Asian audiences and align with Fortune's brand identity.
  2. Team Management
    • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Asia editorial team, setting the tone for the publication's content and maintaining the highest standards of journalistic integrity.
    • Recruit, lead, mentor, and develop a team of talented editors, writers, and other content creators responsible for producing high-quality editorial content across various formats.
    • Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and editorial excellence within the editorial team.
  3. Editorial Oversight
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with Fortune’s brand identity and resonates with its target audience.
    • Assign, edit, and guide the development of editorial news and feature stories that provide insightful, accurate, and engaging coverage of Asia business, leadership, and economic trends.
    • Optimize content for various platforms, ensuring it resonates with target audiences and adheres to Fortune's editorial standards.
    • Stay abreast of evolving media trends and technologies, identifying opportunities to innovate and optimize content delivery methods.
  4. Performance Metrics and Evaluation
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for editorial initiatives.
    • Monitor and evaluate performance against established metrics, driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven track record of editorial leadership and experience in a senior editorial role within a reputable media organization.
  • Deep understanding of Asia and global business, economic, and leadership landscape.
  • Exceptional team management skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a diverse group of editorial professionals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and senior executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay abreast of evolving media trends and technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience conceptualizing and organizing high-profile events.
  • Proficiency in digital media tools, content management systems, and analytics platforms.
  • Based in Singapore and willing to work in the office at least three days a week.
