Executive Director, Risk Management Dept

The Executive Director of Credit Risk Management Group will be responsible for leading and developing a team focused on managing credit risk in the APAC region within a defined authority, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines, and contributing to the overall credit strategy of the organization in the region.

Job Responsibilities

1. Deliver proper and timely message to the senior management through regional credit portfolio reporting committee.
2. Improve regional credit portfolio management tools and frameworks such as RAF and stress testing.
3. Establish and/or strengthen credit risk management frameworks for new risks/products to support business expansion at local, regional or branch level.
4. Enhance group base risk management in the region, i.e SMBC Indonesia.
5. Deliver and manage multiple regulatory reporting including IFRS9 ECL. Establish and/or strengthen regional model governance and data governance.
6. Improve regional ESG related risk management (e.g. physical and transition risk stress testing and financed emission control).
7. Enhance marketable products management framework such as Underwriting transaction, Counterparty credit risk, Securitisation, etc.
8. Enhance governance in key focus areas to meet regulatory requirements/expectations, such as model, data and ESG Risk.
9. Liaise with HO risk management departments in Tokyo, such as CIPD, CPRMD.
10. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of credit risk management professionals.

Job Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Banking & Finance or equivalent.
2. At least 10 years of relevant experience in credit risk management.
3. Any risk management-related certification (e.g. FRM, PRM, SCR) is a plus.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
6. Knowledge of credit risk management principles, practices, and regulations.
7. Strong leadership and people management skills.
