Executive Director, Regional Head Unsecured Lending & Joint Finance, Consumer Banking Group

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a highly accomplished and results-oriented Regional Head of Unsecured Lending and Joint Finance to lead and drive the growth and profitability of our unsecured lending and ecosystem lending businesses across six key markets: Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, India, and China. This crucial role requires a seasoned leader with extensive experience in consumer finance, product management, and a proven ability to build and manage high-performing teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing regional strategies, managing P&L, overseeing risk management, and collaborating with marketing and sales teams to achieve ambitious business objectives, while building and nurturing new partnerships within the Ecosystem to grow the Joint Finance business to drive sustainable and profitable growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the regional strategy for unsecured lending and joint finance, aligning with the overall business objectives and market dynamics in each territory.
  • P&L Management: Own the P&L for the regional unsecured lending and joint finance portfolio, driving revenue growth, managing expenses, and ensuring profitability. This includes setting financial targets, monitoring performance against targets, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Product Management & Development: Oversee the product lifecycle management of unsecured lending and joint finance products across all markets, including product innovation, enhancement, and optimization. This involves identifying market needs, developing new product offerings, and ensuring products meet regulatory requirements.
  • Partnership Management: Establish new partnerships and nurture existing relationships across markets to build a profitable and sustainable Joint Finance business. Ensure disciplined performance review, tracking and governance of all partners.
  • Risk Management: Work closely with risk management function to establish and maintain a robust risk management framework for unsecured lending and ecosystem lending, mitigating credit risk, operational risk, and regulatory risk.
  • Sales & Marketing: Work closely with marketing and sales teams to develop and implement effective go-to-market strategies for unsecured lending products.
  • Technology and Digital Capabilities: Develop product and platform roadmap to ensure competitive and innovative product offerings across all markets. Work closely with stakeholders in Technology and Digital teams.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across different departments and geographies, effectively influencing decision-making and securing buy-in for strategic initiatives.
  • Market Analysis & Insights: Stay abreast of market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes, providing insights and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines in each market.
Requirements:
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 15 years of experience, with significant focus on consumer lending or cards.
  • Extensive experience in product management, with a proven track record of successfully launching and managing consumer finance products.
  • Deep understanding of key P&L drivers, risk management, marketing, and sales in the consumer finance industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and mentoring high-performing teams across multiple markets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
