The Role:
The Executive Director of Diabetes Singapore (DS) will provide strategic, operational and clinical leadership for the organization. The individual is expected to work in close collaboration with the Management Committee to ensure that the directives of DS through its policies, programs and activities are effectively implemented. This role therefore demands a seasoned healthcare or nonprofit / charity leader with the ability to drive impact, manage partnerships and lead service delivery within Singapore's healthcare ecosystem.
Reporting to the President of the Management Committee and as the head of the organization, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall management of DS, aligning its priorities in corporate governance and overseeing operational policies and processes as defined by the Management Committee and in accordance to the standards set by the relevant regulators and authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fundraising & Resource Acquisition:
Support fundraising initiatives, drive grant applications and donor engagement as well as mobilize volunteers to sustain and grow Diabetes Singapore’s strategic thrust and programs. - Financial Stewardship:
Monitor and manage budgets, ensure regulatory compliance and achieve cost-effective service delivery. - People & Operations Management:
Lead, motivate and develop staff including nursing professionals and administrative service executives to become a competent team for the book of works at Diabetes Singapore. - Partnerships with Primary Care & Health Networks:
Foster strong collaborations with Primary Care Networks (PCNs), polyclinics, general practitioners and community care providers to enhance patient support and access to care. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Cultivate and manage relationships with key stakeholders including the Ministry of Health, Health Promotion Board, pharmaceutical companies, corporate partners and community organizations. - Advocacy & Public Engagement:
Work closely with the Management Committee to represent the organization at public forums, media engagements and policy consultations to advocate for better diabetes care and prevention.
Qualifications/ Experience:
- Proven experience in healthcare leadership, nonprofit management, or public health administration.
- Good understanding of diabetes care, clinical services and/ or the primary care ecosystem.
- Demonstrated ability to build high-impact partnerships with stakeholders in the public and private sectors.
- Strong communication; organizational, and strategic planning and execution skills.
- Experience in managing and motivating teams in charity organisations.
- Degree in healthcare, public health, business administration or related field.
