Position Overview:
The Executive Director, CME Data Services is responsible for leading the execution of the commercial data and analytics strategy in the Asia-Pacific region, identifying new product development opportunities for the regional client base, driving revenue-increasing initiatives through coordinated sales efforts and leading CME Data Services' presence in the region. This individual will work directly with Data Services' global licensing and product leads (e.g. Data Policy, Audit, Derived Data, Benchmark, Data Platforms, etc.) as well as with Sales and Marketing teams to ensure that CME Group's commercial proposition related to data products and services aligns with our broader strategic objectives. Further, the role is responsible for the internal and external articulation of CME's market data business policies and principles, as well as being responsible for identifying sustainable revenue opportunities across client segments and distribution channels. This position requires a keen understanding of the global and Asia market data industry, including data policies, business models, regional product initiatives, pricing, and business development opportunities to establish deeper growth throughout the region. Additionally, this role will collaborate with Client Development & Sales, Business Line Management, Global Account Management, and international management to identify offerings that will support regional product initiatives.

Principal Accountabilities:
â?? Build and manage the development of country-specific growth strategies in region to effectively expand CME Group's Data Services business growth in Asia.
â?? Play a pivotal role in developing and executing sales strategies to penetrate new markets and deepen existing relationships to maximize competitiveness of CME data and analytics products.
â?? Serve as ambassador for the Data Services business-line in region, representing CME at regional industry events and associations, while deepening current and future client relationships.
â?? Maintain overall accountability for the Data Services P/L from the APAC region.
â?? Build and maintain effective working relationships with regional sales, marketing and account management leads to successfully execute data-related programs, as well as campaigns to achieve client expansion across countries in varying stages of maturity and with differing regulatory conditions.
â?? Evaluate customer data usage trends and provide key input into the development of program and policy considerations which maximize revenue.
â?? Manage senior relationships for regional distribution partners to ensure client access of CME Group data is maximized.
â?? Work closely with Retail Policy and Retail Sales to further penetrate the Retail market in APAC

Required Experience:
â?¢ At least 15 years of professional experience in the Asia market data industry with a focus on business development, account management, and/or regional sales.
â?¢ A strong and established professional network across data consumers, data vendors, exchanges, connectivity and service providers.
â?¢ In-depth knowledge of financial market data licensing models, policies, products and pricing is essential.
â?¢ A proven ability to provide analysis and opinion on the competitive landscape including insights into threats, opportunities, and trends in region.
â?¢ Maintain and expand an understanding of cloud-based data distribution
â?¢ A solid understanding of the regulatory frameworks for key countries and the impacts of those on how to do business in those countries.
â?¢ Experience working closely with external customers to understand their needs.
â?¢ Strong strategic thinking skills. Communicates and works effectively with diverse groups and individuals - clearly conveys information and ideas and listens and responds appropriately to customer needs, external vendors and individuals throughout the organization including senior and executive management.
â?¢ Develops open, considerate, effective and productive working relationships with external contacts, and individuals throughout the organization.
â?¢ Displays advanced decision making and analysis skills - draws information and broad knowledge to make timely and logical decisions that provide practical solutions.

â?¢ Must be able to successfully partner with internal and external stakeholders across departments and at various management levels.

Education:
â?¢ Bachelor's degree. Advanced degree (MBA, CFA) preferred.
