Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES

Candidates are expected to assist and support the Finance team (Payroll) in the following:

  • Responsible for end-to-end processing of monthly payroll computation for all employees ensuring legislative compliance;
  • Perform payroll verification and processing timely and accurately;
  • Update payroll system on new information and review changes pertaining to existing or new employees’ details;
  • Assist in monthly, annual and periodic filings of statutory payment submissions notwithstanding, IR21, Yearly IR8A, NS make-up claims, Government Leave claims;
  • Keep abreast of changes or amendments to new statutory rules, regulations and internal policies of clients and in response, plan and implement changes to payroll processes or system to ensure compliance;
  • Set up, review and implement payroll, leave and staff-related claim system and perform system testing and post-implementation support by updating the payroll system with new programs;
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders on staff matters, payroll system issues and non-payroll related matters;
  • Attend meetings and answer queries relating to payroll from internal or external parties while maintaining highest confidentiality of payroll data;
  • Prepare payment relating to payroll to internal or external parties;
  • Perform reconciliation and prepare monthly payroll related schedules;
  • Provide support in HR/ Payroll projects whenever necessary;
  • Preparing payroll related journals;
  • Check and verify claims, notwithstanding, entertainment, transport, general and overseas claims; and
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate should preferably:-

  • At least a Diploma in Accounting, HR, Business Administration or equivalent;
  • Minimum 1 year experience in handling payroll;
  • Good knowledge of Singapore Employment Act, CPF, Income Tax legislation, payroll and its procedures;
  • Experience in PeopleSoft will be an added advantage;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications;
  • Detail oriented and excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Self-motivated, adaptable with the ability to work independently and in a team with minimal supervision;
  • Good time and stress management; and
  • A can-do attitude even with new projects that might not be payroll related are assigned.
