DESCRIPTION
The Events Support Engineer's primary responsibility is to operate and monitor remote Amazon Events scheduled to be livestreamed and/or recorded. This will include testing, troubleshooting, communicating with local AV, Event production teams, and Organizers of events, and post-production delivery. The engineer will also serve as support for onsite and offsite events when the need arises. They should have a diverse AV background with experience in livestreaming, audio, video, lighting, and integrated AV systems. Additionally, the team member will have strong organizational skills, calendaring, self-accountability, ability to work across multiple teams and cultures, demonstrate impeccable customer service, and be energetically driven to meet the needs of our customers and team.
Key job responsibilities
- Professional, discrete, and service-minded communication with customers, teams, and business partners in all modes: telephone, email, instant message, text, or in person.
- Accomplishing tasks, keeping up with calendaring and emails on a daily basis.
- Raising the bar at the level of production and design applied to daily livestreams/recordings.
- Work closely with the Events Production and other internal teams to deliver complex setups.
- Actively analyze existing processes, then help establish new processes and improvements to elevate team and client experiences.
Pre-event:- Reaching out and touching base with local building AV and event POC.
- Implement the setup and configuration of audio, lighting, video production, presentation systems, and staging equipment.
- Connecting and testing remote locations with local systems.
Event execution:- Launch timely events for livestreams and recordings.
- Ability to make executive decisions on audio and video productions levels in a wide variety of event situations.
- Optimizing systems for best quality attainable.
- Dynamically adjust work schedule to business needs.
Post-event:- Touch base with organizer post event.
- Provide editing and delivery of recordings to organizers.
- Upload metrics for each event.
- Conduct thorough troubleshooting and testing as needed or as directed by the engineering team, reporting back with detailed reports.
- Identify and work to resolve Audio, Lighting, Video Production, or Presentation system issues, and report detailed findings to the engineering team.
- Actively analyze existing processes, then help establish new processes and improvements to elevate team and client experiences.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 2+ years of livestreaming support experience.
- Understanding of livestream software.
- Knowledge of streaming media protocols: RTMP, HLS, SRT.
- Knowledge/experience in a range of VC/AV equipment.
- Knowledge/experience using video conferencing software (Zoom, Webex, MS Teams).
- Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Professional qualification in livestreaming / AV or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in troubleshooting and critical problem-solving.
- Knowledge / Experience with AWS livestreaming products (Elemental MediaLive, MediaPackage).
- Knowledge / Experience deploying and operating cloud livestream systems.
