Equipment Engineering Technician

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain the manufacturing process to stabilize and optimize equipment capabilities through continuous improvement and cost reduction within departmental policies and objectives.

Maintenance & Equipment Recovery

• Execute preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment and facilities, support set-up/conversion and qualification, and enhance overall equipment effectiveness and efficiency.
• Perform machine recovery for production in the shortest time and provide corrective action on breakdowns/abnormal statuses, reporting to the supervisor and recording in the downtime report.
• Assist engineers in establishing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual overhaul and maintenance schedules.
• Investigate and analyze root causes of chronic issues, leading timely efforts to systematically solve them and sustain results (e.g., data collection, analysis).

Spare Parts Management

• Assist in managing and maintaining the equipment spares and inventory system.

Continuous Improvement & Support

• Support manufacturing process yield improvement, process optimization, and increased productivity while assisting supplier quality engineering.
• Assist engineers in equipment modifications.
• Participate in 6 Sigma/QSD/OEE project implementation and quality awareness activities across manufacturing operations.
• Support safety, ISO, and 5S audits.

Training

• Assist engineers in staff training (e.g., autonomous maintenance training), prepare training materials, and facilitate cross-training of zone members.

Safety, Housekeeping, Discipline & Others

• Perform activities (5S, workplace safety, and occupational hazards) to ensure conformance to safety instructions and promote good housekeeping, organization, and manufacturing practices.
• Ensure good housekeeping, plant work discipline, ESD, and safety awareness at all times.
• Execute ad hoc tasks as instructed by supervisors or managers.

Others

• Support all manufacturing specifications for technology/product transfer, new process introduction, product development, and machine setup.
• Plan effectively for corrective and preventive measures to maintain high equipment reliability and process stability with minimal resource requirements.

Job Requirements

• Higher NITEC/Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics) with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in Wet Chem/grinding.
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Ability to understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Experience in preventive maintenance and machine troubleshooting (mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic).
• Knowledge of semiconductor wafer fabrication processes.
• Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment.
• Ability to read and write PLC (Programming Logic Control) is an added advantage.
• Proficient in MS Office.
