Monitor and verify that the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) is adhered to at all times and take action if the specifications are not followed.
Monitor and verify that environmental impacts are kept to a minimum during the planning, design, and construction phases of the project.
Conduct surveillance, monthly inspections, and detailed audits.
Compile and complete checklists to aid the surveillance and inspection requirements.
Keep records of all activities/incidents concerning the environment on site and issue spot fines for transgressions of activities identified in the EMP.
Recommend the issuing of penalties to the Engineer's Representative for contraventions of the EMP.
Prepare and submit a Site Environmental Control Programme and Site Environmental Control Reports to the Occupier of the construction site.
Identify environmental issues and recommend measures to rectify the irregularities.
Assist the authorities in investigating environmental issues.
Organise campaigns, training courses, and other activities to develop and sustain the interest of workers in maintaining good environmental health standards.
Any other duties/responsibilities as assigned by the Reporting Manager.
Job Requirements:
Registered with the National Environment Agency (NEA).
Good knowledge of the ECO Scheme and Environmental Laws.
At least 5 years relevant working experience in the construction industry; particularly civil works or in LTA projects, or similar scale, complexity, and nature of work will be advantageous.
Familiar with the Occupational Health & Safety Management System.
Good team player and able to work independently with a positive attitude.
