Introduction

As an Architect in IBM Consulting, you’ll serve as a leader in defining solutions for clients. You’ll be the advocate for the client while guiding the technical team to implementation.

You’ll collaborate with client stakeholders and internal partners to understand the business problem and requirements, constraints of the system to facilitate, iterate and document the design and adoption of a hybrid cloud model.

Your role and responsibilities

1. Design and implement cloud-based solutions for public sector clients, ensuring compliance with government regulations.
2. Lead the development and deployment of cloud-native applications, incorporating DevSecOps principles for enhanced security and operational efficiency.
3. Oversee the full SDLC, from concept to deployment and maintenance, ensuring security is integrated at every stage.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud solutions with an emphasis on security and operational excellence.
5. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members in cloud architecture and DevSecOps practices.
6. Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide expert, secure cloud solutions.
7. Stay updated with the latest trends in cloud technology, government compliance standards, and DevSecOps methodologies.

Required technical and professional expertise

1. At least 10 years of experience in a cloud application solution architect role.
2. Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure, cloud-native application development, and DevSecOps practices.
3. Proficient in the full SDLC, including agile methodologies, with a strong focus on security and compliance.
4. Strong understanding of government compliance requirements in the cloud domain.
5. Proven leadership skills and experience leading technical teams.
6. Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
7. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
8. Relevant certifications in cloud computing (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
