Job Description & Requirements

Clinical Care

1. Perform all nursing treatment/procedures including the administration of medications, dressing application of topical creams as per IMR, and naso-gastric feeding under the supervision of a registered nurse.
2. Assist Dr., Podiatrist, Speech Therapist, Dietician, and SRNs during treatment and examination of residents.
3. Conduct rounds to ensure that the residents are well and safe; and be alert especially those on high risk.
4. Assist residents with their individualised care programme, perform procedures such as oral hygiene, tube feeding, eye care, prosthetic aid, hearing aids bathing residents, etc.
5. Facilitate clients in/conduct group exercise.
6. Assist clients in toileting, meals, and change diapers/clothes.
7. Report any abnormalities detected to the RN in charge e.g., skin condition or infection/sores.
8. Perform daily handover to care staff during changes in shifts.
9. Assist in bathing residents.
10. Attend to call bells and residents' needs.
11. Assist Staff Nurse on application of topical creams as per IMR.
12. Attend to residents’ personal grooming e.g., cut nails, shaving, etc.
13. Turn bedridden residents every 2 hours.

1. Infection control.
2. Quality improvement programmes.
3. Patient safety.

Training & Development

1. Orientate new staff on recruitment e.g., OJT.
2. Assist RN in clinical guidance for HCA and HA, and participate actively in in-service training program.

Administration

1. Assist in maintaining residents' files/records.
2. Assist in report writing and verbal reports on patients' condition and progress and on nursing management of patients.
3. Report any abnormalities detected to the RN in charge e.g., skin condition or infection/sores.
4. Assist the Registered Nurse in inventory checks and control.

Job Specification

Perform any other duties as assigned by the Chief Nurse/Nurse Manager.

Education Level: Nursing Degree / Nursing Diploma

Experience: At Least 1 year
