English Teacher

We are looking for a committed English TEACHER (A-Level) to complement our qualified workforce of educators.

Location: East (nearest MRT Tampines West DT31)

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for preparing and implementing a full educational teaching plan according to the school’s requirements. It will be fundamental to provide knowledge and instruction to students while also helping them develop their personalities and skills.

Specifically:

1. Prepare and conduct lessons according to the course syllabus and scheme of work.
2. Deliver lessons and provide the necessary supervision to students as a mentor or form teacher.
3. Provide necessary supervision to the students, manage the classroom, and address discipline issues.
4. Prepare and mark examination papers and assignments.
5. Monitor the performance and progress of each student and provide academic counseling.
6. Teach students according to their aptitude (Differentiated Teaching).
7. Perform Intervention duties: Identify and discuss students’ academic and pastoral needs with parents/academic team/student relations to find a way to help students.
8. Attend team meetings and staff development workshops.
9. Support scheduled school holistic activities when directed to do so.
10. Oversee and advise the assigned non-academic / Co-curricular activities.
11. Enable students to attain projected subject results.
12. Collaborate with the team in curriculum development, appraisal system, and project management.
13. Perform any other tasks as may be assigned on an ad-hoc basis as needed.
14. Achieve assigned key performance indicator target.

You must know how to organize a class and make learning an easy and meaningful process. Your goal is to help cultivate the students’ interest in education and be their dedicated ally in the entire process of learning and development.

Skills and experiences:

1. Bachelor’s degree relevant to the subject to be taught. A Master’s Degree will be advantageous.
2. Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in Cambridge A Level / GCE “A” Level in a school setting.
3. Ability to inspire students’ interest in learning and create a strong affinity with the students.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Self-motivated, logical thinker, team player.
6. Former MOE school teachers and NIE-trained teachers will be preferable.
7. Must be fluent in Mandarin and English to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking students (Students are all Mandarin-speaking).
