The Technician assists the Director of Engineering, Asst. Director of Engineering, Engineering Manager, Chief/Senior Maintenance Officer & Maintenance Officer with the day-to-day operations of Engineering, in line with Conrad standards, brand pillars and prescribed Hilton policies and procedures.

What will I be doing?

As the Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

1. Ensure all mechanical and electrical systems, including all piping and fittings throughout the hotel, are functioning satisfactorily.
2. Fabricate, repair and maintain mechanical and electrical systems, structures and equipment inclusive of sanitary, plumbing, waste and choke manholes, etc.
3. Repair and maintain all mechanical equipment, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, heat recovery, fresh air supply and exhaust air fans, rubbish bins, trolleys, wheels, and all mechanical fittings, etc.
4. Install or repair meters, starters, switchgears, fittings, wiring, vacuum machines, cables, and all electrical, gas and fuel-operated machines throughout the hotel.
5. Inspect and replace all fused lamps inside and outside the hotel including grounds, gardens and swimming pool lights.
6. Report and maintain television sets, antennae, signal boosters and amplifiers.
7. Observe and report any equipment, switchgears, or wiring that are not functioning properly and rectify them.
8. Check and conduct weekly test run generator sets and also battery water level, engine oil, indicator water, etc.
9. Maintain daily log sheets for reading of temperature and pressures of electrical, air-conditioning systems, water supply and heat recovery systems.
10. Check and repair defective flushing systems, toilet bowls, urinals, basins, and ventilation pipes.
11. Check and repair all valves for hot, cold water and chilled water systems.
12. Check all water pump systems, heat recovery, flush tanks, water tanks heater and swimming pool, inclusive of all valves.
13. Do cement and tiling work for all walls, car parks, beams, pillars, post, floor tiles, vinyl tiles, long bath and basin grouting, pipe and service risers, and staircases.
14. Construct edges, kerbs, and pelmets.
15. Weld copper, galvanized, and steam pipes.
16. Install and repair washbasins, long baths, toilet bowls, and urinals.
17. Check, repair, and replace washers, gaskets for taps and valves.
18. Carry out all work in connection to plumbing and masonry.
19. Perform duties as per safety and fire operation drills when needed.
20. Respond promptly and positively to all guest requests, even if they do not directly concern the department or job.
21. Carry out shifts/split shifts or perform odd duties whenever a colleague is absent.
22. Coordinate and report to Maintenance Officers on job assignments and inform them of movements for quick location in case of emergencies.
23. Assist in keeping workshop areas, plant rooms and other equipment rooms clean at all times.
24. Participate in the annual fire evacuation drill exercise/building inspections conducted by FSSB.
25. Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
