Engineering Assistant (Healthcare & Medical Industry)

Job Summary:

• 5 Days (8.30AM to 6.00PM)

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to hospital personnel throughout the commissioning, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning of medical equipment.

• Oversee specialist vendors and appointed contractors during medical equipment maintenance to ensure work quality and compliance with required standards.

• Regularly update users and gather feedback on the maintenance, performance, reliability, and quality of medical equipment.

• Inspect, analyze, and investigate faults, complaints, and hazards related to medical equipment, assisting BME engineers in developing and implementing corrective action plans.

• Ensure maintenance work meets hospital standards, best practices, and quality initiatives set by the hospital and department.

• Manage stock and spare parts for frontline technical support, assisting the stock supervisor with documentation and inventory management.

• Support BME engineers in coordinating medical equipment projects with vendors, contractors, and appointed project consultants.

• Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by BME engineers.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering preferred.

• Certificate in Electronics, Electromechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering is an advantage.

• At least 3 to 5 years of practical experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

• Strong communication and supervisory skills.

• Customer service-oriented with a positive work attitude.

• Ability to work collaboratively with staff at all levels.

• Basic IT skills required.
