Engineer, 3D Printing Centre (Future Health System)

As an Engineer in 3D Printing Centre (3DP), your job responsibilities include the following:

  • Lead project engagements towards defining design requirements and advise on material suitability and robustness.
  • Work with Center Manager to establish and execute relevant approaches to healthcare Engineering Design. Ensure proper documentation and archiving of each procedure and product design.
  • Apply industry-leading technologies and deploy good engineering practices in additive manufacturing to drive and undertake projects and training.
  • Keep abreast with all necessary accreditation and QMS requirements applicable to 3DP.
  • Maintain software and systems used with the latest enhancements and libraries.
  • Maintain machines to ensure optimal operational condition, ensuring high standards of Quality, Environment, Health and Safety, as well as governance process parameters for 3D printing, pre and post-processing, and inspection of components suitable for hospital use cases.
  • Support new projects in the area of in-house production of surgical implants and advanced surgical guides.
  • In charge of peripherals and inventory managed under the Engineering Team.
  • Owner of design depository and project timeline.
  • Assist in all matters and projects in relation to the Engineering team.
  • Keep abreast with development in 3D technology applicable to healthcare.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in relevant engineering, preferably with at least 3-5 years of experience in the Additive manufacturing field.
  • Prior experience in the operation of 3D Printers of different technologies, including but not limited to FDM, SLA, SLS, and MJF technologies.
  • Experience in CAD software packages particularly related to Medical 3D Printing.
  • Understanding of design requirements and methodologies for 3D printing.
  • Experience in anatomical model, surgical guides, and implants design would be highly advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy and medical imaging processing would be helpful.
  • Able to establish good rapport and network with internal or external parties.
  • Ability to facilitate discussions with different levels of staff.
  • Grasp of technology trends, especially those influencing healthcare.
  • Experience in medical device accreditation and QMS would be an advantage.
  • Attributes of forward thinking, task-driven, excellent facilitation skills, strong planning, analytical, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills.
