Job Title: Engineer, Maintenance

The role is responsible to supervise daily routine and repair work orders as assigned. This includes troubleshooting equipment breakdowns and carrying out basic repairs. The role will supervise vendors/service providers activities for routine equipment maintenance work to ensure equipment is maintained in full operational status. Additionally, the engineer shall supervise and train Associate Engineers on production systems to improve their knowledge and capabilities and perform Root Cause Analysis for equipment breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise daily routine and repair work orders as assigned to enable smooth handover and minimize disruption to production schedule.
  2. Ensure all routine maintenance works are duly carried out as scheduled and in compliance with Engineering standards and procedures.
  3. Respond on-call for service breakdown and support ongoing operations.
  4. Analyze and interpret data to develop solutions based on engineering knowledge and field experience to resolve problems quickly and effectively.
  5. Perform equipment related breakdown/failure troubleshooting/recovery with maintenance Associate Engineer.
  6. Supervise vendors/service providers activities for daily routine equipment maintenance work to ensure equipment is maintained in full operational status.
  7. Ensure audit readiness by complying with effective standards, regulatory/statutory and cGMP requirements to prevent major compliance observation.
  8. Perform reviewing of executed maintenance work order in SAP to ensure all GMP documentation related to maintenance activities is completed accurately and processed to full completion.
  9. Communicate to Manager when encountering non-compliance issues including work delays, breakdowns, missing parts, etc.
  10. Maintain all site equipment in optimum condition in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) & EHS requirements.
  11. Execute continuous improvement initiatives to promote asset reliability and maintenance excellence to enhance equipment/system/process robustness.
  12. Contribute to site Maintenance excellence program.
  13. Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor/Manager, including but not limited to the above.

Key Requirements:

  1. Diploma or Degree with relevant work experience in process equipment & maintenance in Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology, O&G industry.
  2. Hands-on production equipment/systems operations, repair and maintenance experience in Biopharma, Pharmaceutical or a relevant environment.
  3. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  4. Strong hands-on technical skills or willingness to be hands-on on Utilities system/process equipment.
  5. Detailed and Quality conscious.
  6. Ability to follow SOPs and instructions.
  7. Diligent in performing operational checks.
  8. Able to work independently.
  9. Ability to lead a small group of contractors for PM.
  10. Willing to lead and support maintenance continuous improvement projects.
  11. Excellent Team player.
