Job Summary (General Nature / Objectives of the Job):
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the installation of electrical systems for construction projects. They ensure that electrical designs meet safety standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role involves collaboration with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and contractors to ensure the effective integration of electrical systems within the overall project.


Key Responsibilities and Activities:

  1. Design electrical systems for construction projects, including power distribution, lighting, and safety systems.
  2. Prepare detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  3. Conduct load calculations and electrical system analysis to ensure efficiency and compliance with codes.
  4. Collaborate with architects and other engineers to integrate electrical systems into overall project designs.
  5. Review and approve electrical contractor submittals, shop drawings, and material samples.
  6. Conduct site inspections to monitor the progress of electrical installations and ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  7. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues that arise during construction and commissioning phases.
  8. Ensure that all electrical systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with local codes and standards.
  9. Prepare progress reports and documentation for project management and stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with renewable energy systems, smart building technologies, and energy management practices is a plus.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of building systems integration, including HVAC and fire safety systems.
  • Ability to perform detailed electrical calculations and analyses.
  • Competence in project management techniques and tools to ensure timely project delivery.

Formal Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Major Study/Specialist (Education):

  • Electrical Engineering or related disciplines.

Experience Required:

  • 3–7 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proven experience with electrical design and installation for large-scale projects.
  • Familiarity with project management and coordination with contractors and subcontractors.
