What you will be doing:

  • Act as appointed Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) and Fire Safety Manager (FSM) at the assigned client’s sites.
  • Promptly execute WSHO and FSM legislative roles and responsibilities as stipulated in the Fire Safety Act, Fire Safety (Fire Safety Managers) Regulations and other relevant fire safety regulations; and Workplace Safety & Health Act, Workplace Safety and Health (Workplace Safety and Health Officers) Regulations and other relevant EHS regulations.
  • Responsible for all EHS matters, consultation and legal compliance.
  • Accountable for the maintenance and implementation of the Environmental, Health and Safety Management System that fulfills national, industrial, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and local legislative (i.e. MOM, NEA, SCDF, SPF etc.) requirements as well as in line with client’s policy, procedures, objectives-targets-programs and site-specific activities.
  • Accountable for contractor EHS management including but not limited to:
  • Develop, review, approve and manage risk assessments and related supporting documents (e.g. method statement/safe work procedure, training competency, safety data sheet etc.);
  • Review, issue, control and manage permit-to-work for working-at-height, confined space, lifting operation, hot work and fire protection system impairment.
  • Develop, review and maintain EHS documentation, safe work procedures, emergency response plans, data and records as well as training materials.
  • Arrange and/or conduct EHS trainings (online, virtual and physical trainings), table-top exercises, emergency drill exercises, site inspections, audits, coaching discussions, incident investigations, measurements and monitoring, occupational health examinations and EHS committee meetings as well as document meeting minutes.
  • Promote positive EHS awareness, culture and practices through role model demonstration, proactive communication, constant engagement, know-how sharing and program development and participation.
  • Provide EHS technical support, legal updates and consultation as well as follow up EHS action items till resolution.
  • Work with the local team for driving EHS implementation and improvement in risk management, operational control as well as emergency preparedness and response.
  • Liaise with local authorities for EHS compliance and partnership, including mandated report submission to local authorities, licence/permit/certification/registration renewal etc.
  • Advise on matters pertaining to occupational health and safety, fire safety as well as environmental management.
  • Lead the renewal of SCDF annual building fire certificate, petroleum and flammable materials storage license as well as emergency response plan.
  • Manage EHS data entry, document control, filing and all types of EHS administrative work.
  • Report to client’s EHS Function and provide monthly reports/data updates promptly.
  • Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

You are:

  • Graduated from a science/engineering discipline and possess EHS-related local legislative competency qualification.
  • Competent and valid certified Ministry of Manpower registered WSHO as well as SCDF registered FSM that can be appointed for assigned Singapore Site’s building.
  • *WSQ Manage Work at Height (MWAH) Certification.
  • *WSQ Assess Confined Space for Safe Entry and Work (CSSA) Certification.
  • If one has not been certified, must possess such certification within 3-month probationary period.
  • Preferably with MOM registered Noise Control Officer qualification, semiconductor exposure background and/or involvement in facilities management.
  • Substantial EHS-related working experience of at least 5 years.
  • Good communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, good driver, good team player and ability to work well with minimal guidance.
  • Positive attitude and good research capabilities.
  • Good problem-solving, project coordination and conflict resolution skills.
  • Solid experience with computers/software specifically Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Microsoft Teams, Zoom and fast learner in the digital world.
  • Must have the flexibility to work outside of normal business days and working hours including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job.
