Assistant Store Manager

Job Overview

As the Assistant Store Manager, you will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the café. You will assist with overseeing staff, ensuring top-tier customer service, managing inventory, and maintaining a welcoming and efficient store environment.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Support:

1. Assist in recruiting, training, and developing baristas and support staff to ensure a high-performing team.
2. Provide guidance, coaching, and support to staff members, helping them improve their skills and meet performance expectations.
3. Maintain a positive, team-focused atmosphere that encourages open communication, collaboration, and excellence in customer service.
4. Lead by example, promoting professionalism, customer care, and a strong work ethic.

Customer Service Excellence

1. Ensure all customers are provided with exceptional service, addressing inquiries, concerns, or complaints promptly and professionally.
2. Monitor customer satisfaction through feedback, making improvements as needed to enhance the overall guest experience.
3. Promote a friendly, welcoming environment that fosters customer loyalty and encourages repeat visits.

Operational Support

1. Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring the café runs efficiently, and maintaining high operational standards.
2. Monitor and adjust staffing levels according to customer volume and business needs, ensuring smooth operations at all times.
3. Manage opening and closing duties, including cash handling, register balancing, and preparing the store for the next shift.
4. Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed, particularly around health, safety, and cleanliness.

Inventory Management

1. Assist in managing stock levels, placing orders, and receiving deliveries to ensure that the café is properly stocked with necessary supplies.
2. Monitor inventory levels to reduce wastage and ensure cost-effective operations.
3. Organize and manage the stockroom, ensuring all supplies are stored correctly and in an accessible manner.

Sales & Financial Support

1. Help the Store Manager meet sales goals by identifying opportunities for growth, increasing customer engagement, and promoting café offerings.
2. Assist in managing cash flow, including handling financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and maintaining accurate records.
3. Track performance metrics (sales, inventory levels, customer feedback) and assist in making adjustments to improve efficiency and profitability.

Quality Control & Standards

1. Ensure that all products, especially coffee and food items, are prepared according to the café’s standards.
2. Regularly check for quality control, cleanliness, and product consistency.
3. Help maintain the store's ambiance by ensuring cleanliness and organization throughout the café, including the kitchen, barista station, and seating areas.

Problem Solving & Issue Resolution

1. Address operational challenges, customer complaints, and employee concerns quickly and effectively.
2. Help ensure that issues are resolved in a timely manner and that the team is supported to deliver high-quality service.
