Job Description


We are seeking a self-motivated individual to serve as Finance Director. He/she will be tasked with the main responsibility of funding support and manage the company group level finance report from operations in China and Germany.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Financial Leadership and Strategy

  • Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy to support overall business objectives.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the finance department to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Act as a key advisor to the executive leadership team on all financial matters, providing insights and recommendations.

2. Finance Operations


Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to align financial planning with operational goals.
  • Prepare and update financial forecasts and variances, providing insight into deviations and recommending corrective actions.

Internal Controls & Risk Management:

  • Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks through the development and implementation of risk management policies and procedures.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Manage and mentor the finance team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their roles effectively.
  • Ensure the team’s professional development and performance management.

3. Funding Support


Funding Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and execute the company’s funding strategy, balancing debt and equity financing to support business growth and operational needs.
  • Advise senior leadership on the company’s funding structure and capital allocation to optimize financial performance.

Capital Raising:

  • Lead efforts in raising capital, working closely with banks, investors, venture capitalists, and other financial institutions.
  • Prepare and present financial models, business plans, and investor pitch materials to potential funding sources.
  • Negotiate terms of financing arrangements, ensuring they are favorable to the company’s long-term goals.

Investor Relations & Reporting:

  • Manage relationships with existing and potential investors, providing them with regular updates on the company’s financial health and funding strategy.
  • Oversee the preparation and communication of financial performance reports to investors and other key stakeholders.

Strategic Partnerships:

  • Explore and negotiate strategic funding partnerships, joint ventures, or mergers and acquisitions to help fund growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that funding opportunities align with the company’s business strategy.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accountancy or ACCA qualifications, proficient in IFRS and US GAAP principles.
  • At least 10 years of working experience as Finance Director, prior experience in Big 4 audit firm, with healthcare or biotech sector and in an IPO/publicly listed company is a plus.
  • Maintain board/investor tracking and share capital updates with the government, maintain board and shareholder resolution and other investment-related documents. Prior exposure to legal and board secretary work is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, able to multi-task and work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Preferably bilingual in English and Mandarin.
  • Discreet with confidential information.
  • Outgoing personality and people-oriented disposition.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills including email etiquette.
