Senior QA & QC Engineer / QA & QC Officer (Construction Works)

Job Description:

The Senior QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality are maintained throughout all phases of construction projects. This role involves monitoring and implementing the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensuring compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Management System Implementation:
   • Monitor and implement the Quality Management System (QMS), including the Project Quality Plan, procedures, and related documentation.
   • Ensure compliance with ISO9001:2015 standards and perform auditing activities as required.
2. Quality Assurance and Control:
   • Develop and implement quality control procedures and processes.
   • Ensure all works are in accordance with the established QMS, including method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), procedures, specifications, and other contract requirements.
   • Conduct QAQC daily checks to ensure ongoing compliance and quality assurance.
3. Inspection and Testing:
   • Conduct and prepare site inspections, ensuring all testing is in accordance with specifications, ITPs, and contract requirements.
   • Inspect and check materials and works on-site and off-site, recording all inspection records and reports.
   • Submit inspection request forms (IRFs) to client representatives and attend laboratory testing as needed.
4. Audits and Assessments:
   • Conduct regular inspections and audits of materials, equipment, processes, and finished products to identify non-conformities and deviations from quality standards.
   • Perform comprehensive quality assessments and measurements, including statistical analysis, to evaluate product and process performance.
5. Reporting and Documentation:
   • Prepare monthly QAQC reports for submission to the Corporate QAQC Department.
   • Issue QAQC Non-compliance notices to subcontractors and follow up on corrective actions.
6. Additional Responsibilities:
   • Carry out ad-hoc duties as required by management.
   • Collaborate with project teams to address quality-related issues and provide solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field in the built environment.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in QA/QC within the construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of ISO9001:2015 standards and auditing processes.
• Qualified Welding Inspector is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and inspection techniques.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in quality management software and tools.

Working Conditions:

• The role may require working on construction sites and off-site facilities.
• Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings and conduct inspections.
