Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager to lead our Customer Engineering team in the APJ region. In this role, you will manage a team of customer architects who will be involved in Observability, Cybersecurity, and Search use cases. You will be responsible for helping customers to realize value and ultimately drive consumption, customer retention and expansion. Travel within the APJ territory (approximately 50%) is expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Management: Oversee and guide a team of customer architects. Provide clear direction, support, and regular feedback to ensure the team works efficiently.
- Technical Guidance: Serve as the primary technical resource for your team. Make sure that technical plans and customer adoption align with our product capabilities.
- Regional Strategy: Develop and implement technical strategies for the APJ region. Balance immediate technical issues with longer-term planning.
- Market Understanding: Use your knowledge of the APJ market to help the team understand local customer needs and technical trends, including developments in Observability, Cybersecurity, Search, and emerging areas like Vector Databases, Machine Learning, and GenAI.
- Collaboration: Work closely with regional sales leaders, product teams, and other stakeholders to ensure technical efforts are coordinated and aligned with overall business objectives.
- Customer Engagement: Represent the Customer Engineering team in technical discussions with customers. Address technical challenges directly and ensure our solutions are effectively applied.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience managing technical teams in a customer engineering environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong background in distributed datastores, Observability, Cybersecurity, or Search. Experience with our solutions and familiarity with emerging technologies such as Vectors, Machine Learning, and GenAI is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Planning and Execution: Ability to handle immediate technical issues while also planning for long-term strategy.
- Cultural Awareness: Experience working in international settings and an understanding of regional business practices is desirable.
- This role is ideal for someone who can manage a technical team with clear, straightforward leadership and a strong grasp of both current and emerging technologies in the APJ region.
