Job description

Job Scope:

  1. Engage in R&D initiatives such as cost reduction, ingredient substitution/consolidation and other key activities as assigned.
  2. Develop recipes and conduct tests to optimize product design for new and existing products.
  3. Develop new product packaging including bar code setting and product label.
  4. Ensure all product creations comply with customer, government and legal regulatory requirements within the country of sale.
  5. Ensure timely documentation of formulae, product and packaging specifications, sensory evaluation, nutritional information, and any other document related to product/packaging development.
  6. Develop and improve process controls to ensure high standards of food safety and quality.
  7. Involve in regulatory, certification body, and customer audits and assist in follow-up corrective/preventive actions.
  8. Responsible for customer complaint investigations and root cause analysis and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  9. Attend to customer complaints and provide support and solutions for issues pertaining to products and processes.
  10. Plan projects and coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve critical issues for timely completion of assigned projects.
  11. Maintain equipment and ensure the calibration of the equipment in the lab.
  12. Conduct food safety training for staff and develop training materials and assessment plans.
  13. Ensure pest management programs are in place and run effectively.
  14. Perform other tasks assigned by superior.

Requirements:

  1. Diploma/Degree in Food Science & Technology or similar discipline.
  2. At least 2 years of relevant experience in the food manufacturing industry.
  3. Passionate about food product development.
  4. Highly experienced with troubleshooting when encountering difficulties.
  5. Strong experience in using basic laboratory equipment and able to provide training to junior team members.
  6. Strong documentation and organizational skills.
  7. Excellent in compiling data and writing technical reports for internal and external readers or customers.
  8. Knowledge of ISO, HACCP, BRC, HALAL certification.
