Job Title: Financial Controller, Central Asia

Job Location: Singapore

Territory: Central Asia (ASEAN, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong)

Key Responsibilities

Controllership

  • Direct and coordinate the preparation of financial reports and forecasts consistent with the US and local accounting standards and shareholder requirements.
  • Manage the corporate accounting to reporting functions, to ensure the financial results are accurately reported to management, shareholders and appropriate external parties under USGAAP, local GAAP and appropriate tax legislation.
  • Preparation and finalization of monthly close activities and review of Balance Sheet schedules in coordination with a third party shared services provider.
  • Direct and manage the taxation accounting, planning, and reporting requirements consistent with local regulatory requirements, respective laws, and overall corporate objectives.
  • Coordinate and manage maintenance of the company’s statutory records, risk management and internal control programs, statutory and shareholder requirements including developing and maintaining internal control policies and procedures to contribute towards existence of a strong corporate governance and “best practice”.
  • Coordinate various audits including Statutory, Tax Audits, SOX & Internal Audits and preparation of Transfer Pricing documentation.
  • Direct and coordinate the management of the company’s Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions to provide essential administrative support to all business units in coordination with a third party shared services provider.
  • Guide cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions.
  • Direct and coordinate the management of short and long-term funds and associated risks of foreign exchange and interest risk exposure.
  • Direct and control the product costing function.
  • Direct and control Property Plant & Equipment (PP&E) accounting.
  • Identify and make recommendations that optimize business processes and improve financial and other internal controls.
  • Use financial expertise and counsel to provide insightful analysis, commentary and bring balance regarding strategy, sales performance and actions, knowledge of business objectives and priorities. Act as counsel to Central Asia Leaders regarding how best to manage country P/L.
  • To work closely with Central Asia Business Head, Central Asia Commercial and all Sales Team for pricing, product costing and margin optimization plans in line with its financial and business objective.
  • Compliance champion regarding distributors, vendors, potential point of contact regarding legal matters (in collaboration with Regional Leader).
  • Act as a source of fiscal rigor and rationale in assessing strategic direction, sales commitments, organizational structure (cost related), rebate calculations and feasibility of sales activities.
  • To coordinate the quarterly forecasts and the annual budget. To lead the review and analysis of the plan/forecast with relevant stakeholders.
  • To analyze and provide explanation for major deviation from the Plan and Forecast.
  • Lead the preparation of responses to findings and the development and implementation of corrective and preventative actions; collaborate with BPO associates on process governance standards and change management processes as well as associates from other Global Line Functions as necessary; collaborate with other Global Line Functions across Avanos Divisions and Third Parties to meet joint accountabilities; represent Avanos Central Asia externally as a subject matter expert on process governance standards and change management processes.

  • Increase productivity by developing automated accounting applications.
  • Working with subject matter experts and shared service remotely.
  • Managing multi-functional interactions under tight deadlines.
  • Manage Inter functional relationship & communication with peers.
  • Ability to interpret local legalization and apply to Central Asia Healthcare Setup.
  • Potential high exposure position due to value and external interfaces.

Qualifications / Education / Experience / Skills Required

  • B.C. / MBA is preferred.
  • Finance with 10-12 years’ experience in Finance & Accounts function. Prior experience of Working in SAP is mandatory.
  • Quality Management, Problem Solving, Process Improvement, Statistical Analysis, Reporting Research Results, Requirements Analysis, Financial Skills, Expert-level analytical and financial modeling skills, Strategic thinking, Ability to influence and persuade.
  • Knowledge of SAP systems and related technologies, Strong understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley, Ability to multitask and meet constant deadlines.
