IT/Data Centre Technician (Server/Hard Disk) -Up to $3400 | WEST | ALL WELCOME

• Position: IT/Data Centre Technician (Server/Hard Disk)
• Location: Jurong West
• Working hours: 5 days, Monday to Friday (8.00 am to 5.30 pm)
• Salary (commensurate with experience): Up to $3400 + AWS + Performance Bonus + Meal
• Duration: Permanent
• Industry: Logistics MNC

Main Responsibilities:

• Perform physical and technical tasks of low complexity on Data Center Infrastructure equipment (servers infrastructure, network infrastructure, or equipment DC floor)
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain servers, networking equipment, and cabling
• Fix broken servers (replace hard drives, replace bad sticks of RAM, etc.)
• Learn and apply diagnostic methods to troubleshoot data center equipment
• Use hardware/software tools and workflows (automation) in support of these tasks
• Strictly follow policies, processes, and procedures related to data center environment
• Perform maintenance on a timely basis with adequate recordkeeping
• Maintain supply of spare parts inventory
• Ensure equipment is started up properly and maintain equipment with minimal downtime
• Locate sources of problems by observing and listening to mechanical devices in operation.
• Maintain documentation of performance of preventive maintenance, equipment repair, part usages and other documentation
• Ensure a safe working environment and perform maintenance in a safe manner

Requirements:

• Min intermediate Vocational Education in maintenance, hardware repair or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Experience in Lean Principles warehousing.
• Basic knowledge of Linux OS a plus
• Able to identify basic network components and perform fiber and cabling handling
• Ability to rapidly learn Standard Work Instructions (training and job shadowing to be provided)
• Must be able to lift heavy objects
• Willing to work shift hours when required
