The role requires the incumbent to establish and prepare the basis of design and estimation for electrical detailed engineering works.
The position includes preparing key electrical engineering documents, coordinating with various disciplines, and performing site surveys to ensure conformity with project and client requirements.
Responsibilities
Occasionally establish and prepare the basis of design and/or estimation and design philosophy prior to executing electrical detailed engineering works.
Perform electrical system studies, including value engineering, to determine cost-effective designs conforming to client requirements.
Prepare key electrical engineering documents such as Single Line Diagrams, Conceptual Layouts, and Substation Layouts.
Prepare specifications, data sheets, requisitions, technical evaluation reports, and vendor data reviews for major substation electrical equipment.
Coordinate with other disciplines, vendors, and sub-contractors to ensure conformity with project and client requirements.
Act as Key Person (KP) for medium to large-sized standard projects, handling more than 5,000 electrical engineering manhours.
Perform discipline project control for schedule, BM/BQ, and manhours when assigned as Project Lead Engineer.
Assist in the implementation of Department training programs as a trainer or mentor.
Support major phases of construction work, potentially assuming roles such as Electrical Site Superintendent and Electrical QA/QC in charge.
Act as the home base Lead Support Engineer during major project phases at the site.
Participate in site surveys and investigations of existing facilities to clarify design feasibility.
Participate in factory acceptance tests of electrical equipment.
Perform additional duties as assigned by superiors.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
15 years or more experience in electrical detailed engineering works in Oil & Gas, petrochemical, and other related industrial plants.
At least five (5) years in frontend engineering and proposal/estimation works.
At least five (5) years in field engineering works.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Microstation, and common electrical calculation software.
Familiar with local and international electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
Proficient in the design of electrical systems for oil/petroleum/industrial infrastructure industries.
