Our award-winning shophouses have been featured in Travel + Leisure, The New York Times, and Channel NewsAsia, and have hosted over 4,000 creative individuals from leading organizations like Grab, BCG, and Citi. Now, we’re embarking on a journey to grow our global artist residency program, and we’re looking for a Curator to make a lasting impact.
Mission
To curate meaningful artist residencies while amplifying Figment’s artistic and cultural footprint through innovative content, community building, and creative marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Residency Curation
• Curate & Evaluate: Oversee artist applications for Figment’s global residency programs, selecting talent that aligns with Figment’s vision.
• Installation Oversight: Manage the creation, hanging, and presentation of art installations within Figment spaces.
• Artist Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for resident artists, ensuring their needs are met and their works are showcased effectively.
• Exhibition Planning: Coordinate the setup and logistics of Figment Art Houses, open houses, and other residency events.
Marketing & Branding
• Social Media Content Creation: Develop engaging content for Figment’s social media channels to highlight residency activities and resident artists.
• Residency Journal: Write and edit a quarterly blog or journal featuring resident stories, behind-the-scenes insights, and event recaps.
• Press & Outreach: Act as the face of the program, liaising with galleries, curators, and media outlets to amplify Figment’s presence in the art and design worlds.
Grant Writing & Funding
• Grant Applications: Identify and secure grants from NAC and international arts councils to support residencies and associated costs.
• Strategic Partnerships: Build partnerships with art councils, sponsors, and organizations to expand Figment’s reach and resources.
Logistics & Site Management
• Site Coordination: Handle logistical tasks like art labeling, installation logistics, and maintaining Figment’s boutique spaces.
• Program Support: Ensure smooth operations of residency programs, including scheduling and artist onboarding.
Key Outcomes
1. Exceptional Residencies:
• Curate and manage 10 ongoing artist residencies that resonate with Figment’s vision and elevate the brand.
• Curate artworks Figment's Fine Art Collection for our new Art Houses in collaboration with Project Manager and Interior Designer
2. Engaging Content & Brand Building:
• Achieve a 25% increase in social media engagement within the first 6 months.
• Publish one well-received residency journal or blog per quarter.
3. Funding Success:
• Secure grants to cover 40% of residency program costs annually.
• Build relationships with 3-5 key arts councils or sponsors within the first year.
What You’ll Bring
• A degree or work experience in Fine Art, Art History, or a related field.
• Previous experience in art curation, marketing, or branding preferred.
• A creative vision and ability to connect with artists, curators, and stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for storytelling.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
