The Human Resource (HR) Business Partner provides strategic advisory and consulting services to the Senior Management and Head of Departments (HODs) in SOCIs (Schools, Offices, Centres and Institutes).
Partner with SOCI leaders to identify trends and work with the leadership team and other HR teams to translate these insights into HR initiatives.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of current and future SOCI workforce needs, ensuring effective workforce planning that anticipates potential impacts and aligns with organizational goals.
Utilize HR metrics and key performance indicators (e.g., attrition/retention rates, performance, engagement) to provide actionable insights and guidance to SOCI leaders.
Collaborate with Talent Management and Development team and SOCI leaders to create effective strategies for nurturing top performers through Hi-Po programs. Additionally, assist SOCIs in developing robust succession plans for key leadership roles.
Direct strategic talent sourcing discussions, briefings, and final interviews for key senior/leadership roles.
Facilitate the onboarding process for senior/managerial roles and senior faculty members in SOCIs, ensuring a smooth transition and a positive start that enhances their engagement and productivity.
Oversee performance appraisal process to ensure timely, constructive feedback and facilitate performance improvement initiatives.
Partner with Employee Experience and Wellness team and SOCI leaders on Employment Engagement surveys, programmes and initiatives, as well as post-survey action planning.
Review with Compensation & Benefits team to ensure that the compensation & benefit framework and policies framework are robust and align with industry practices.
Work closely with Employee Relations and Compliance team to guide and advise SOCI leaders on labour relations matters and disciplinary cases.
Partner with SOCI leaders/or line managers, HR CoEs, and HR Technology & Operations on any exceptional/off cycle employee matters that require discretionary decisions (off cycle promotions/salary adjustments, one-time payments, involuntary terminations, etc).

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, preferably in the area of Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years in HR-related experience, with at least 7 years of generalist HR experience, including HRBP experience. Prior experience in an academic institution is preferred.
Demonstrates high level of empathy and advanced listening skills when communicating, influencing, problem-solving people matters.
Grounds decisions in facts, leverages data to generate new insights and opportunities, clearly defines and measures business outcomes to identify course corrections and measure success.
Familiar with general HR policies & practices, local Employment Act, Immigration rules, etc.
Strategic thinking and the ability to align HR strategies with broader organizational goals.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach, influence and build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
Adaptability and a customer-focused mindset to meet the diverse needs of the organization and its employees.
