Responsibilities
- As Agile Coach, build Agile Centre of Excellence and form working guild members to accelerate agile maturity and practices across all relevant teams in the department.
- Drive outcomes by facilitating agile ceremonies to maintain the discipline.
- Define team-level agile metrics for reporting and continuous team improvement.
- Enable the team to make work visible to each other/stakeholders, and facilitate stakeholder engagement and reviews.
- Ensure dependencies (across team, upstream / downstream) are understood, and required cross-team delivery is aligned and escalate unresolved dependencies as required.
- Have expertise in the use of Enterprise Agile tool stack (Confluence, JIRA, etc.), and a working knowledge of the tools required to support the Software Engineering Lifecycle.
- Coordinate with relevant contributors to ensure all impediments to the teams’ progress are cleared and the team can focus on their work.
- Manage risks, and ensure mitigations are identified and driven to resolution.
- Build own knowledge of the product/application(s) the Team delivers to support the Product Owner with Backlog Management.
- Work with the Product Owner and Team to ensure the Product Backlog is “Ready” for the next Sprint (meets Definition of Ready).
- Build trust within the Team and Stakeholders, by collaborating on shared goals and creating a “Safe-To-Fail” resilient Team culture.
- Be responsible for making sure the team lives by the values, principles and practices of agile.
- Employ agile best practices and ensure all tools and methods are in place for teams' success.
- Foster culture for high performance, creating a collaborative environment, and building a continuous improvement mindset within the team.
- Protect the team to maintain focus on value delivery, reducing waste, preventing over committing and/or complacency, and ensuring space for innovation.
- Ensure the Teams' successes and failures are celebrated.
- Actively seek and participate in a variety of Learning Opportunities such as Communities of Practice, Conferences, classroom training, and independent study to further develop self and community.
- Provide L1/L2 application support and coordinate with members from the development team or relevant teams for resolution.
- Identify recurring issues, perform root cause analysis and work with relevant teams to define resolution and drive to close.
- Switch hats as required to take on work as part of multiple Agile teams or initiatives, i.e. as Business Analyst, Project Manager, Delivery Manager.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, a related technical field that involves programming, or combination of equivalent practical experience and education.
- Minimum 4-5 years working experience in relevant role/s.
- Ability to lead and negotiate solutions that balance technical capability, cost, and time, against business need is required.
- Ability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously is required.
- Must possess strong leadership skills and generate enthusiasm among stakeholders.
- Must possess strong analytical, organisational and product management skills.
- Ability to communicate difficult sensitive information tactfully is required. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, i.e. users, developers, operations, QA, managers and subject matter experts.
- Possess good problem-solving skills and can adapt to changes in business requirements.
- Effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure, fast-paced, global environment.
- Strong organisational skills to manage assignments effectively and work within tight deadlines.
- Strong communications skills to collaborate with developers, QA, project managers and other stakeholders.
- Good to have experience working in Agile teams using JIRA tool.
