Job description

You will join our team as an Actuarial Data Analyst, where you’ll become part of Munich Re’s Life and Health Southeast Asia Unit in Singapore, supporting the SEA Life Commercial team.

You will utilize your actuarial knowledge and data analytics skills to transform, process and analyze client bordereaux data. A key focus of the role will be driving the Treaty Monitoring Project (KTM), which aims to refine the tracking of treaty performance. Your efforts will result in comprehensive reports and actionable insights that inform organizational strategies.

Additionally, you will contribute to ad-hoc analyses and collaborate on projects that enhance processes, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, data-driven solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with actuarial and accounting teams to analyse and interpret treaty terms and product features.
  • Lead the onboarding of treaties and the development of the KTM project by automating data-driven processes, designing algorithms for data cleaning, and preparing comprehensive documentation to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards using tools such as VBA, SQL, Python, and Power BI to visualize, monitor, and analyse client data, providing relevant insights to support business decision-making.
  • Partner with clients and internal teams to identify and resolve data issues, ensuring documentation and maintaining high data quality standards.
  • Conduct ad-hoc investigations, including premium reconciliations, generating management reports, and preparing datasets for experience analyses.
  • Support the team with miscellaneous tasks, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive problem-solving mindset.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or Business Analytics, with a strong foundation in data transformation and data analysis.
  • Experience in actuarial-related roles and Life Insurance principles and products is preferred; fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Proficient in Excel, SQL, and data analysis automation, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Skilled in data visualization tools, particularly Power BI, for creating compelling reports.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach, committed to continuous learning, and possessing a positive willing-to-learn attitude.
