Utilizes independent judgment in performing both routine and complex laboratory tests using a variety of techniques, instrumentation, and equipment in order to assist the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Performs complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriological tests.
Examines and analyzes body fluids and cells and matches blood for transfusions.
Analyzes chemical content of fluids and tests for drug levels in the blood.
Prepares specimens, counts cells, and looks for abnormal cells in blood and body fluids.
Analyzes test results and relays them to physicians.
Exercises professional judgment in order to prioritize and evaluate varying test requests efficiently.
Follows procedures for collecting and processing biological specimens.
Performs analytical testing procedures with accuracy and precision.
Demonstrates scientific knowledge of testing principles, analytic procedures, and their results allowing for appropriate interpretation in conjunction with disease and physiology. Integrates multiple data to resolve problems.
Implements and monitors quality control, new equipment, and/or methods.
Performs tasks efficiently and maintains work area.
Requirements
Min Dip/Degree in Biomedical Sciences/Other relevant fields.
No experience required, training will be provided.
