Job description

Maltem Asia is seeking a User Research Service/Solution Designer for a Wealth Management Client based in Singapore.

Summary:

  • Supporting the Design Core projects, the candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth research and creating comprehensive service blueprints.
  • The candidate will play a crucial role in understanding user needs, behaviors, and pain points, and translating these insights into actionable design strategies.
  • This role requires complex stakeholder management and coordination across multiple cross-functional teams within a sophisticated investment operation system.
  • A creative thinker who can think outside the box, motivate teams, and achieve results even in challenging situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate business problems into research projects and programs that address issues across the organization.
  • Develop and deliver research insights that answer key questions and support multiple value propositions, informing internal stakeholders and other disciplines to make decisions at the business unit and product levels.
  • Conduct comprehensive user research to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points. Utilize various research methods such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, and ethnographic studies.
  • Create detailed service blueprints that map out the end-to-end user journey, identifying key touchpoints, interactions, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Plan and conduct cross-functional workshops to facilitate ideation and creation of UX-related artifacts to help with product scoping and delivery planning.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to generate insights that inform design decisions and strategies.
  • Handle stakeholder expectations, set a clear vision, and secure buy-in across functions.
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to identify research opportunities and influence product decisions.
  • Develop research plans and protocols that align with project goals and timelines.
  • Create and maintain research artifacts (e.g., personas, journey maps, research repositories).

Must Have Skillsets:

  • Degree in Design, HCI, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience as a UX Researcher, Service Designer, or similar role.
  • Proficiency in various research methods such as:
  • User interviews
  • Surveys
  • Usability Testing
  • Ethnographic studies
  • Experience in Service Design such as:
  • Creating Service Blueprints
  • Journey Maps
  • and other service design artifacts.
  • Strong ability to analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data to generate actionable insights.
  • Maintain a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end research projects and their impact on product decisions.
  • Possess a healthy blend of strategic thinking capabilities with an innate "dream big, start small" mindset and an eagle eye for detail.
  • Possess ‘User Empathy’ skill and interest, with a strong drive to discover and resolve their pain points.
  • Possess strong ownership, leadership and accountability qualities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with an ability to quickly command trust and respect from executives and partners.
