Job description

Responsibilities

Operates, controls and monitors production and utility units through DCS control system and in the field in a safe and responsible manner.
Conducts in-process quality control.
Carries out material handling activities, both raw materials receipt and final product packaging.
Carries out waste management activities on site.
Assist in carrying out HSES and PSM-related duties designed to be of Chemical Technicians job scope and responsibilities.
Take ownership of the plant performance. Ensure production and consumption of area of responsibility is at target and perform prioritized tasks.
Supports team colleagues to achieve their target and to resolve problems in a safe and efficient way using available standards.
Be part of Plant Emergency Response Team.
Adherence to individual and shared targets (volume, consumption, tasks).
Execution of production tasks and prioritized tasks; timely intervention upon deviation.
Gap resolution and recording for own area, planned versus actual production performance.

Requirements

Diploma / NITEC / Higher NITEC with Minimum 1-2 years of proven experience as a Chemical Technician with a petrochemical / chemical / pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Singapore.
Hands-on line, field experience in chemical process operations is essential.
Good working experience in areas like safety, occupational health, quality, environment, logistics and maintenance.
HSE and Quality minded attitude.
Knowledge of product quality control techniques is an advantage.
Competency in HAZMAT and fire-fighting is an advantage.
Having a forklift driving license is an advantage.
