Duke-NUS Development Department is seeking a dynamic Development professional who thrives on cultivating philanthropic partnerships to bring funding support for the School in areas of education and research.
Key responsibilities include driving effective fundraising strategies, developing gift opportunities and managing a portfolio of prospective donors. The ideal professional is adept in building strong relationships with high net worth individuals, family offices, corporations and foundations to solicit gifts, and is donor-centric in providing exceptional stewardship to benefactors.
Duties and responsibilities:• Develop strategies to spearhead fundraising activities and initiatives, and build a culture of giving among alumni.
• Proactively identify, qualify and cultivate new prospects to acquire new gifts to broaden the School's donor base.
• Develop and research gift opportunities, and create proposals that match the interests of prospects with the needs of Duke-NUS.
• Actively collaborate with colleagues and faculty to identify new opportunities for support and scope out causes for funding.
• Engage donors through in-person meetings and other platforms.
• Management and execution of gift administration, from gift acceptance, processing, recording and disbursement.
• Support the Head of Development to draft and prepare board papers, presentation decks, management reports and other documents as needed.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Development.
• Bachelor's Degree with minimum 4 to 7 years of relevant experience.
• Prior work experience in fundraising, business development, philanthropy, banking, client-service, healthcare or higher education sector is preferred.
• A strong communicator with great interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
• Possess excellent conceptualisation, writing, editing and presentation skills.
• Highly organised and values attention to detail.
• Service-oriented and experienced in aligning project needs with stakeholder interests.
• Strong active listening skills with ability to negotiate positive outcomes.
• Collaborative and team-oriented, with a trailblazing ‘can-do' spirit.
• A responsible and independent individual, results-oriented, and able to take initiative and work on competing tasks concurrently.
• Values discretion in preparing and handling confidential and sensitive information.
• Passionate about philanthropy for higher education, and creating meaningful impact for the wider community.
• Well versed in software applications such as Microsoft Office and Adobe programmes.
