Manager, External Relations (University / 1 year / West)

About the Role:
We are seeking a temporary hire to support the Deputy Dean and College Management in leading the School’s overall External Relations stakeholder engagement strategies and initiatives. This dynamic role will focus on enhancing the visibility and engagement of the College both locally and internationally.

As an External Relations and Events Manager, you will play a key role in cultivating strategic partnerships, organizing high-impact events, and supporting leadership initiatives that advance the College's mission in innovation, research, and business education.

Key Responsibilities:

External Relations Engagement and Partnership Development

1. Promote and raise awareness of the College of Business.
2. Spearhead strategies to advance the College’s external relations agenda.
3. Cultivate partnerships across a broad range of initiatives for teaching, research, and collaborations.
4. Identify opportunities for new partnerships and engagements within the industry.
5. Develop action plans and foster relationships with key industry stakeholders.
6. Coordinate external relations programs across the College.
7. Represent the College at industry forums, research conferences, and business meetings.
8. Serve as the primary administrative contact for external engagements and corporate partners.

Event Management and Operations

1. Plan and implement large-scale partner events and industry collaborations.
2. Lead internal and external coordination to ensure successful event execution.
3. Select venues, negotiate contracts, and liaise with the Events Office.
4. Host visits to the College for external parties, visitors, and guests.
5. Manage event budgets, track expenses, and provide regular financial updates.
6. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and strategies for events.
7. Evaluate events post-execution to assess success and prepare reports.

Support to Leadership and Strategy Development

1. Consult with College Management on strategies for enhancing industry partnerships and external relations.
2. Contribute to the formulation of external relations strategies and implementation plans.
3. Support leadership in building relationships with regional and international partners.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
2. At least 8 years of relevant experience in events management and partnership engagement.
3. Strong networking and relationship-building skills with the ability to connect with people at all levels.
4. Proficiency in managing in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, and engaging online communities.
5. Creative, resourceful, and strategic thinker with strong analytical skills.
6. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
7. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Details:

1. Duration: 12 months extendable
2. Working days: Mon- Thurs 8.30am-5.45pm, Fri 8.30am – 5.15pm
3. Location: West
4. Salary: Up to $7000 depending on experience
