Senior Manager for Technical Support

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement new solutions and ideas from Japan to Singapore and Asahi Kasei in ASEAN countries.
• Educate the local Engineers on the new technology from Japan and bridge the gap between Japan & Singapore or ASEAN countries.
• Bring back the issues to Japan for any troubleshoots and analysis. Collaborate with HQ Japanese Engineers and Singapore Engineers to mitigate the issues.
• Provide solutions to customers within the ASEAN region by recommending our Engineering Plastics and injection molding technique from project R&D stage until Start of Production.
• Support Sales & Marketing Department in promoting our Engineering Plastics technically within the ASEAN region to expand market share.
• Responsible for market research in new applications and competitors' materials through analysis and evaluation.
• Conduct failure analysis of molded articles in case of any customer claims or feedback.
• Provide technical training to customers or traders within the ASEAN region.

Technical Support Management

• Engage & manage existing and/or new development customer projects to provide solutions for plastic injection technology and failure issues.
• Manage the new development grades of Engineering plastics.
• Conduct training for subordinate engineers to develop new business portfolios, passing down new ideas to the new local generation and grooming them for opportunities to travel to Japan for new collaboration in the near future.

REQUIREMENTS

• Knowledge in Polymer / Plastics is a must.
• Qualification preferred in Polymer stream graduate (Dip and above). *Chemistry or material science graduates will be considered as well.*
• Knowledge with at least 5-6 years of experience in plastics injection molding and experience in chemical analysis for plastics or chemicals.
• Fluency in English (to liaise with customers).
• Frequent travelling within Japan and South East Asia is needed.
• Good business acumen will be an advantage.
• Fluency in Japanese & Mandarin will be an advantage (to liaise with customers and Japanese counterparts).
• Good knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint presentation will be an advantage.
• Previous exposure to laboratory analysis equipment will be an advantage.
