About the role

Reporting to Maintenance Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the functionality of all Automation systems (Process Control System and Building Management System), Electrical and Instrumentation systems by providing engineering professional and technical leadership to the Engineering & Maintenance function in the plant.

Your responsibilities

  • Responsible for safety of personnel and plant.
  • Provide technical solutions for process-related issues in a variety of complex liquid, drying, and packaging processes.
  • Maintain Process Control System (PCS) and Building Management System (BMS) servers and PLC.
  • Engage and work together with system integrator vendors for new process development automation projects.
  • Troubleshoot and find solutions for process automation-related issues with RCA and CAPA.
  • Work together with project teams for new or upgrade project activities.
  • Support and contribute to yield improvement projects with project teams.
  • Coordinate PM optimization (Preventive Maintenance) to reduce maintenance costs with the help of Lean Six Sigma.
  • Work together with Maintenance Engineers to solve repeated engineering issues.
  • Manage and maintain HACCP in process-related areas such as X-ray, Metal Detector, and pasteurization CCP.
  • Create new SOPs and periodically update both automation and instrumentation-related documentation.
  • Manage a team of automation technicians (4 shifts) and provide technical support and training.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships inside and outside of the organization.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager in building a culture of high compliance in terms of equipment maintenance plans, calibration, and food safety-related equipment and processes.
  • Understand the link between strong maintenance & reliability practices and their impact on food safety and product quality.
  • Drive the use of technology in engineering, maintenance, and reliability engineering.
  • Integrate best practices through a focus on external competitors and other industries.
  • Build and maintain good relationships inside and outside the organization.

The experience we're looking for

  • Bachelor of Engineering / Diploma in Electrical & Electronics or Mechatronics.
  • At least 3-5 years of industrial automation & maintenance experience.
  • Previous experience in a food or pharma manufacturing environment is preferred, with experience and knowledge in automation and predictive and preventative maintenance technologies.
  • Experience in automation systems, SCADA, PLC.
  • Experience in reliability maintenance strategies.
  • Prior experience/responsibility for a major profit/loss center with capital expense and the criteria selection and prioritization of spending would be advantageous.
  • Previous interactions with a variety of internal clients, such as manufacturing and external service providers.
