Make an Impact by:

• Leading the team to operate and manage the IP core consumer network, inclusive of Nokia routers and switches, Huawei routers, Cisco routers, and Juniper routers.
• Monitoring and taking remedial action on proactively and reactively detected services and network infrastructure faults until closure.
• Managing operational issues, escalating chronic/technically complex cases to the vendors, and following up until closure.
• Ensuring that technical and managerial escalation and communication to stakeholders are done whenever necessary.
• Documenting all incidents and events through the incident ticketing system.
• Liaising and coordinating with internal stakeholders, providers, and partners to ensure swift and efficient resolution of faults.
• Scheduling and executing pre-planned operational activities for new service provisioning, network optimization, software upgrades, and more.
• Conducting impact analysis and process review on scheduled changes/faults/outages on provider and internal networks (e.g., fiber cuts, fiber diversions, hardware failure).
• Identifying areas of improvement to reduce infrastructure faults and improve monitoring capability.
• Generating daily, weekly, and monthly reports on infrastructure fault rates and trends.
• Scheduling and carrying out network infrastructure activities like the new deployment of nodes and trunks to support major network activity and business growth.

Performing preventive and corrective maintenance like network device hardware and software upgrades.

Deploying best practice configurations in existing infrastructure.

Maintaining IP network infrastructure information and records.

Budgeting and tracking the expenditures of the operation and maintenance activities.

Skills for Success:

Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Information Systems.

Candidates with relevant working experience in design, operation, and maintenance of IP networks of global service providers will have an added advantage.

Understanding of Internet routing protocols and technologies including TCP/IP, OSPF, ISIS, BGP, VLAN, MPLS, etc.

Knowledge of routers/switches architecture and analytical and troubleshooting skills in the area of technical fault isolation and rectification.

Those who have the following will have an added advantage:
Nokia Certified Network Routing Specialists (NRS I, NRS II), Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP), Juniper certifications (JNCIA, JNCIS), or Huawei certifications (HCNA, HCNP).
