About our group:

The Supplier Quality group supports Seagate teams in ensuring that materials and components will meet the overall quality and reliability of the final products, including ensuring timeliness of qualifications of new programs.

About the role - you will:

Supplier Assessment and Qualification:

  1. Evaluate suppliers through audits and assessments (specifically Ramp Readiness of each New Product Life Cycle Phase Gate).
  2. Qualify supplier process for new components & materials.
  3. Develop and implement inspection plans and procedures.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  1. Collect and analyze data related to supplier quality metrics (Process & Contamination).
  2. Predictive Modelling of Supplier data to Product performance.
  3. Develop systemic process to optimize Supplier and Component Quality management.
  4. Presentations on supplier quality issues and trends.

Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis:

  1. Investigate supplier-related quality issues and root cause analysis.
  2. Implementation of improvement/corrective/preventive actions.
  3. Proactive problem prevention through review of Supplier process, Component Design parameters & Factory assembly process.

Documentation and Compliance:

  1. Ensure compliance with industry & company standards (Design & assembly requirement, RoHS, PFAS).
  2. Work with supplier & various Seagate functional groups to enhance component quality as well as cost reduction.
  3. Implement improvements to supplier quality & manufacturing processes.

About you:

Educational Background:

Degree in Engineering, Material Science, Quality Management, Production or a related field.

Technical Skills:

Basic understanding of quality control principles and methodologies.

Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, JMP).

  3. Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  4. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
