About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Global Clients Strategy & Profitability and Head of GCC South East Asia & India, the incumbent will be responsible for developing new client relationships and maintaining a strong relationship with existing clients by maximizing the revenues of the Bank through originating cross-selling activities. The incumbent may have deep relationships with clients in India, Malaysia and Singapore among others.
Key Responsibilities
Develop new relationships with SEA and Indian entities with acceptable credit profile, active within the BBVA footprint and which meet BBVA’s ESG standards. The primary focus will be on corporate entities and secondary on public sector entities with sector focus in Energy, TMT, Consumer, Infrastructure and Industrias
Originate new business in South East Asia and India through liaising with product teams and BBVA offices in Latin America, USA, Europe & Turkey as well as establishing effective communications with the respective global sector heads. Products available in various sites can include transaction banking, term lending, global markets, advisory (debt, M&A, ESG) and DCM
As global banker, coordinate relationship managers of client subsidiaries across the BBVA Group
Develop the Sustainability franchise of BBVA in SEA & India together with the Head of Coverage of SEA & India
Prepare and present credit applications and new business proposals as well as diligently conduct BBVA’s ESG assessments
As global relationship banker, formulate account strategy & associated income forecast.
Present new business case / annual renewal at local Credit Committee & New Business Committee
Work closely with Asia Risk & Portfolio Management to resolve internal credit queries
Liaise with legal and compliance departments to complete documentation and KYC procedures
Prepare internal reports to facilitate strategic business planning and management decision
Qualification & Experience
Degree holder in Business or related discipline
minimum 10 years of relevant experience of supporting corporate and public sector clients
Solid execution and knowledge of credit analysis and loan structuring
Other Requirements
Fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of local languages in the SEA & India footprint will be an advantage for engaging with customers for whom English may be a second language
Sound interpersonal and communication skills
Strong customer-oriented mindset
Able to work under pressure with strong team spirit and mentoring commitment to the junior bankers
Able to liaise and organize with various internal departments for identifying opportunities and closing transactions
Able to work in a matrix reporting structure, multi-functional and cross-culture environment
