Job Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities
    Research healthcare automation market trends, understand industry shifts, and identify opportunities for growth in India, Japan, Australia and other APAC countries where SLHC has less presence. This involves analyzing competitors, spotting gaps in the market, and assessing where the company can expand. By thoroughly understanding the landscape, suggest strategic moves like entering new markets or introducing products that cater to untapped demand.
  2. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners
    The role isn’t just about initiating these connections but also nurturing them. A key part of business development is ensuring that partnerships are mutually beneficial, and this role must consistently engage with stakeholders to maintain trust and create opportunities for future collaboration.
  3. Work with internal teams to develop strategies that meet market and client needs
    This role collaborates closely with internal teams such as marketing, sales, and product development to create strategies that align with both market demands and client needs. This collaboration ensures that the company’s offerings remain relevant and competitive, enhancing its ability to capture new opportunities while retaining existing clients.
  4. Present business plans to company leaders and stakeholders
    Prepare the business plans outline growth strategies, market entry plans, risks, and expected outcomes. Being able to communicate these ideas clearly and persuasively.
  5. Monitor the progress of business initiatives and adjust plans as necessary
    This role tracks key metrics like revenue growth, market penetration, and client acquisition. If progress falls short of expectations, proactive actions must be taken in adjusting the plan to keep it aligned with company objectives, ensuring that goals are met.
  6. Understand SLHC’s product positioning and keep tabs on competitors
    This role must keep up with competitor activities, such as their pricing strategies, new product launches, and overall market behavior. By staying informed, this role can make strategic decisions to enhance the company’s competitive edge.
  7. Collaborate with the sales team to generate leads and secure new clients
    This role works with sales team to generate qualified leads, ensuring that new business opportunities are followed up efficiently. Collaboration here helps the company secure new clients while expanding its market presence.

Technical / Commercial knowledge

  • Develop a profound understanding of the main technologies and developments of Swisslog Healthcare products and services.
  • Deep understanding of automation system in healthcare industry.
  • Actively seek opportunities with new customers to expand business.
  • Attend local and international trade fairs.

Teamwork & integrity

  • Share knowledge regarding “past, painful learnings” and how to avoid them.
  • Attend internal meetings such as sales meetings, risk reviews, project meetings, when required, etc.

Communication

  • Hold professional and convincing presentations in front of the customers and distributors.
  • Update APAC M.D. on a regular basis on the progress of new market business development as they develop and request management support where appropriate.
  • Ask skilled and targeted questions to drill-down customer problems.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of healthcare and hospital operations; medication management and workflow, pharmacy automation, logistics and supply chain processes.
  • Understanding/familiarity in working within a construction sales environment; preferably in healthcare.
  • Knowledge of general contracting bid and RFP processes, familiarity with plans and specifications and project implementation process.
  • Demonstrated leadership, sales management, strategic thinking, and strong customer relationship skills.
  • High energy, self-starting individual with proven business development success.
  • Organizational knowledge of hospitals, the healthcare market and large capital equipment sales.
  • Solid financial and business acumen; P&L experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong computer and organizational skills.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development within the healthcare/tech sector.
  • Strong networking and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results.
  • A team player with a can-do attitude and a solution-focused mindset.
