The Regional Head of Compliance is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing compliance activities across the region. This position reports directly to the CFO and works closely with executive team to ensure the organization maintains full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Starting with Southeast Asia, the ambition is to have the role cover APAC ex-China & India in the future.

As part of their 2025 growth plans, they are seeking an exceptional Regional Head of Compliance to shape the future of their compliance operations in the region, while managing a lean team.

Description

The Regional Head of Compliance is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing compliance activities across the region. This position reports directly to the CFO and works closely with executive team to ensure the organization maintains full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Starting with Southeast Asia, the ambition is to have the role cover APAC ex-China & India in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the successful application of their MPI license in Singapore and other relevant licenses in the region.
• Lead and manage the regional compliance, providing strategic direction and day-to-day guidance.
• Develop and implement the annual compliance work plan, adapting it to reflect changes in regulatory requirements and organizational risk appetite.
• Design, manage, and oversee the execution of regulatory compliance oversight programs
• Provide expert advice and guidance on compliance matters to business stakeholders, including partners, lawyers, and business professionals.
• Identify, measure, monitor, control, and report aggregate risks within the region
• Ensure the effective implementation of global compliance policies and procedures, adapting them to local requirements when necessary
• Conduct independent investigations of compliance issues and implement corrective measures
• Represent the state of Compliance Risk to Executive Management, Regulators, and the Board of Directors
• Maintain strong relationships with regulators and manage examinations and ongoing regulatory interactions
• Collaborate with other risk stakeholders to proactively identify and assess risks inherent to business processes

Profile

• Fifteen or more years of experience in compliance, with at least six years in a senior role.
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Previous experience in a successful application for an MPI license will be preferred.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
• Willingness to travel - approximately a quarter of the time
